How to stop Google Using your name and photo in its Ad’s
Google has announced officially that it would use your information from your Google account in its advertisement across the web and in the Google search. Google will display your profile photo, name and other personal information to promote Google services within your network or friends circle this program comes under “Shared Endorsements”.
So until you change the preferences in the Google shared endorsements all your personal information will be shared as ads in the web. Here are some examples of shared endorsements. The below image shows a shared endorsement displayed in an ad:
How to turn off shared endorsements on Google?
- Sign in to your Google account.
- Go to the Shared Endorsements setting page. If you are not already a Google+ user, you will be asked to upgrade your account.
- At the bottom uncheck the Based on my activity, Google may show my name and profile photo in shared endorsements that appear in ads.
- Click save button to save the settings.
Once you do the above changes Google will not use any of your personal information to display it in the ads.
